When everyone was complaining about GreenArrowVille in S6, I understood where they were coming from, but I adored JH so much I just didn't care. LOL! I felt like if TPTB were determined to stall Clark in the hopes of extending the series for another season, at least they found a substitute hero I could love. :)

I've always enjoyed the interaction between Clark and Oliver. I like their man-to-man, hero-to-hero talks, and even though I don't think Ollie understands all that Clark has on his plate, when he tells him to get off his butt and start saving the world, he's voicing my own frustrations with where the writers have taken Clark's journey. And when they write that dialogue for Ollie, it just shows they know exactly what they're doing, too. *rolls eyes*

I am the Pollyanna of Smallville, but I'm really looking forward to S8. And now I need to go find some more Ollie icons!

The second Oliver was first on screen in the beginning of season 6, I was in love. And then he turned out to be *cool*.

when he tells him to get off his butt and start saving the world

Word. That's exactly why I like him so much. Everyone else is so bogged down in the Smallville drama, yet Oliver just tells Clark to stop moping like no one else does. My favorite conversations with the two of them are where Oliver is exasperated at Clark and his being such a stationary lump and not wanting to forge ahead.

I fell in love with JH when I saw the Aquaman Pilot the summer before S6, and I was thrilled when he showed up on Smallville. His character is so satisfying to me as a hero. I don't agree with all his tactics, but I understand them. When Oliver said these words to Lois at the end of Justice, I said to myself, that's exactly what Clark needs to say to Lana:

Because there are more important things in this world than what I want, and what I love.

It made me feel like, the writers know exactly how to write Clark, they just aren't allowed to because it will make him progress too fast, and then the show will be over. And AlMiles and the network didn't want that, at least not in S6.

I can see that it must seem crazy to Ollie, someone with no superpowers who risks his life every day to fight the good fight, and who sacrifices his own personal happiness for the greater good, that Clark continues to stay in Smallville and play farmer. I hope that changes in S8.

Oh, my. I do go on and on, don't I? Sorry. :)

Clark really is such a bumbling, selfish fool compared to Oliver. I mean, in Justice, like you pointed out, Oliver made a sacrifice. Clark stayed on the stupid farm because he had his thing with Lana still (and forever). Gah.

Clark really needs to get off that farm. Shouldn't he be interested in journalism by now or something? He wrote some articles for the Torch in high school (maybe) and then we haven't seen him even crack open a book since then. What does he even *do* all day?

Hopefully Ollie will kick him into shape.
