This almost feels like a balm soothing my immense dissatisfaction over the news of Justin being in the "majority of the season" in S8. I adore Ollie, and I'm among his greatest fans in S6 but I want him only for a couple of episodes at the most this time. :(

But anyway, Justin is perfection! EEP! *flails and drools* I also LOVE how he's just so funny and down-to-earth and the way he simply adores his wife and daughter. What a man. And the hottest blonde I've ever seen on screen.

This cap is my favourite by the way. :D He looks so incredibly cute!

I totally understand your qualms about S8, but I'm determined to be optimistic. Here is my list of the ways Oliver as a regular can be a good thing:

1) Clark can have a male friend who not only knows his secret, but also understands his reasons for keeping it. They're both single now, right? How fun would it be to see them hit the town together? I'd love to see Clark do some guy stuff.
2) Ollie's "the end justifies the means" philosophy can give Clark the impetus to verbalize his decidedly different viewpoint, and maybe even help him realize an inner desire to give the world a different kind of hero.
3) Ollie can buy the Daily Planet, thereby removing Clark's objection to working there.
4) Ollie's presence in Metropolis can be one more reason for Clark to gravitate away from the farm and toward the city.
5) The writers can give all the requisite 'shippy storylines to Ollie, and let Clark focus on his destiny (yeah, I know, I'm dreaming).
6) It's always handy to have a friendly billionaire around to help make things happen.
7) Potential JLA action? Probably not, considering the budget cuts, and their stated intent to focus on Ollie's past, rather than his GA identity, but who knows?
8) We already know JH works well with everyone on the show, and he brings a lot of talent (and pretty) to the party.

Anyway, I'm going to hope for the best. :) Working on this picspam has reminded me how much I enjoyed JH on the show. I truly am excited about the possibilities for S8.

I'm glad you enjoyed the pics! He is totally adorable in that cap!

The optimistic bench really is a fun place to be. :D Thank you for the list! It's what I'm hoping for too if they just have to have Ollie throughout next season. Especially #1, let them have a bowling/poker/movie night or something lol. We almost had that in Hydro.

I like the way you think! :) Didn't they used to have poker nights on LnC? Perry, Jimmy, Lois, and Clark? I'd also love to see Ollie try to take Clark out to a bar to meet girls, and have everything go horribly wrong in a funny way. Let Tom do some physical comedy and forget the angst for just one episode. That could be fun.

You're so right about the LnC poker nights. I love how Perry treated it so reverently, lol.

Smallville always hides all the fun scenes in offscreenville. How awesome it would be to see Bart & Clark munching burritos in Mexico or checking out girls in Miami. Heck, Kara & Lois bonding over jeans, or Lois and Chloe during the "National Chloe Sullivan Day" breakfast. Gah! Now I need to search if there are fanfics for those.

There you go, let's bring Bart back for an episode. He always seems to be able to get Clark to loosen up a bit. *nods*
