Great explanation for why Clark finds everyone he loves doing so well without him. That really bothered me, too. At first, it seemed like just another way of backhandedly diminishing Clark's importance but It makes sense when you see it as coming from Jor-El as a way of further manipulating Clark. With SV you always need a little fanwanking but this really is an excellent POV to take, given the way Jor-El has always been portrayed and the fact that Clark's major resistance to doing what Jor-El wants is due to his love of family and friends and not wanting to leave them behind. *two thumbs up*

Tom really was awesome and I absolutely love it when he directs himself and can make "his choices" for how Clark should be! I'm really sensing it's gonna be a "new day" in season 8. Could just be my wishful thinking (I tend to be optimistic by nature) but this season has gained momentum in depicting Clark in a more Supermanly fashion; Tom is more visible lately and smiling so much more these days; Lana will only be in a small number of episodes next season; AND the goughlar is leaving!!! I can't help but be a bit excited!

Hey, TWL247? That's you, isn't it? :) I'm glad my fanwank worked for you, too!

This is exactly how I feel! I'm especially encouraged by the Vogue photo shoot, and Tom allowing himself to be photographed BTS during Apocalypse. These are definite changes. I don't know if the reason is that Tom is feeling more positive about SV, or if he's finally laying the groundwork for a career after SV, or something else entirely, but as a fangirl, I am in heaven! And I agree Clark has definitely made leaps and bounds towards becoming Superman this season. I have high hopes for S8, and I, for one, am happy to see AlMiles go.

Yep, it's me. Forgot to sign in. ;)

Something is definitely up! Possibly a combination of the things you mentioned. I'm one happy fangirl, too!

Aren't those BTS director shots hot? He's so relaxed and looks like he's having fun. Makes me so happy for him.

Me, too! All we've had for years are blurry, scowling paparazzi shots. How wonderful to see those beautiful official photos of a happy Tom, so obviously in his element and looking like he's having a blast. And in regular clothes, too! :)
