Yeah, work is intense at the moment, and will be for at least the next month or so. I may be missing for days at a time.

I thought your review was great, and we really did share a lot of the same thoughts and reactions, didn't we? Great minds and all that! :)

Tom's episodes have all been great. It's interesting to me that they have all had significant Lois and Clark interaction in them, each one more than the one before it. Is this just coincidence, or does Tom enjoy the Lois and Clark dynamic and lobby for episodes that have it?

It is interesting, now that you mention it. Does he get to lobby for episodes? I thought he didn't get to pick and that he would be handed stuff by the producers. I do think he enjoys the dynamic though, and I can see why - his interaction with Lana, and to an extent, even Chloe always revolves around emotional, heavy stuff, so it must be really nice to be able to take a break from that and do something fun and relaxing for a change. Lois offers that freedom from emotional issues, and I think for an actor who's been doing that stuff for the past 7 years, it must be a relief to get scenes that don't involve so much of the heavy acting.

I do think they tend to hand pick his episodes, with a mind to how demanding they are to direct, since he still has to carry the show as an actor as well, but I have no idea if he has any input into the process. However, Apocalypse was a big episode, and he hit it out of the park, so I don't think there's an episode that would be beyond his reach now.

Big episode in so many ways - 150th episode of the series, extensive AU sequences, tons of action and lots of himself to direct. You're right - I don't think episode content is a criteria anymore. Boy's clearly proven his worth! :)

They were smart to give him the 150th episode. Having the star of the show direct such a significant episode, and one in which Clark's very existence comes into question, was an inspired move for the marketing end of things. I can't tell you how many different sites I saw that picked up that angle and ran with it!
