I'm actually quite hopeful for S8. The thing I worry most about is the role Lana will play in the episodes she'll be in. I hope they're all in the beginning, and that they give the Clana a proper ending that respects both characters. As much as I hate the Clana, I acknowledge the huge impact this relationship has had on Clark's life. My biggest fear is that they won't end the Clana at all.

I think, and I really, really hope I'm not being naive here, they're going to have to give it a proper ending. I must confess something that I don't like saying too much b/c it'll make me seem like a don't love Rosenbaum, but there's a part of me that's actually kind of happy there will more than likely be a Lexless season. Not because of anything but I think people in general are so caught up with Clark and Lex that it almost feels to them like there has to be one or else and for Superman doesn't need Lex. Lex is obsessed with Superman and not the other way around. It's so great to hear some optimism after hearing people scream to the skies that the world is ending. ;-)

I do think MR is beyond awesome, and I don't think they could ever find anyone to equal Lex as an adversary for Clark because of the incredible chemistry the boys share, but the fact is he's gone, and at his own choosing. I respect that, and I'm happy for him that he has the freedom to make that choice (I wonder if Tom wishes he could as well). But I watch this show to see Clark Kent and his journey to becoming Superman, and quite frankly, they could probably get rid of everyone except Tom and I'd still watch. :) The kind of worst-case-scenario speculation that is running rampant in fandom right now makes my stomach hurt. I prefer to hope for the best and see what happens. Why get yourself all worked up about some imagined outcome that may never come to pass?

Very true I've been caught up in it before and for what. I still love SV and look forward to it and yeah I'll continue to watch as long as Tom is there.
