So the theme for tonight (for me) was anxiety. I was freaked out for most of the episode, worried about what was happening and what might happen. By the end I was totally on edge!
First off, did they have to show Claire cutting off her toe again in the previouslies?! Yuck! I barely had time to hide my eyes! :)
Sylar was the best part of tonight's episode. He looked delicious in that tropical paradise, and just for the first moment, so cute and cuddly! I was foolishly lulled, and then I jumped when he growled, "show me!" Stupid, stupid illusion girl - she had no idea. Sylar actually scares me. He gives me this shivery feeling right in my solar plexus that is thrilling and kind of horrible all at the same time. I've never experienced anything like it. Usually scary just makes me bail, but it's like Zachary's hotness is just enough incentive to keep me watching in spite of the horror. LOL! And I actually felt sorry for him! Twisted.
I do not like Peter hanging with those bad-accent low-class Irish criminals! I'm half Irish, and they are an affront to my cultural pride and my moral integrity. He's a hero, dammit, not a petty thief! Grab your box and get the hell out of there! (Besides, I think the stupid box is empty.) However, Peter continued to look very hot, and I liked how he started rediscovering his powers. Toss that truck, baby! Although it looked gross, I enjoyed watching his chest kind of spit out the bullet and then heal right up. I also liked how the tattoo just disappeared. (The "family" tattoo? Really, Peter? You barely know these people, and they were like, torturing you about a minute ago! What is this, Stockholm syndrome?! Okay, deep breaths, calming down now.)
So where is that touch of the dark side coming from? Did he absorb it from Niki/Jessica? (And if so, is that why he can't remember anything - there are two of him now?) From Sylar? (And if so, yikes!)
I was surprised to find myself thinking that they were beginning to push the whole shirtless thing. At one point, when Peter was trying to "practice" or whatever, I actually said aloud, "Christ, man, put your shirt on!" (I know, I'm crazy! LOL! And have you noticed how I swear when I'm upset?) Anyway, this storyline is stressing me out. What about Nathan? Peter needs to get back to his brother. And Claire, so he can tell her to get away from that skeevy peeping tom!
So, yeah, let's talk about Claire. :) I get that it's a huge relief to find someone else with a power, especially in the context of teenage alienation and being thrown into a new school and all, but West just plain creeps me out. He's all over Claire to be honest about herself, but I don't see him confessing to second-story stalking or anything. And why did he have to be such a jerk in class? Sure, flying off with the girl in your arms is romantic in a Superman movie, but in light of West's other behavior, not so much. I still have a bad feeling about this.
On a happier note, could the two daddies be any cuter? :) I love the three M's! I agree with Matt that Mohinder needs to keep himself safe, for Molly's sake. I was so sure he was going to get caught when he was rifling through those paintings! And then he finds a painting with my beloved HRG with a bullet through his eye, while Claire kisses some guy over his dead body?! Nooo! (Did I mention this episode made me just a tad anxious?) That scene between Claire and HRG, where she has her newly discovered suspicions, and he's hiding what's on his computer screen, broke my heart. Please, just talk to one another!
It was nice to see Niki and Micah again, but their life seems so hard. *sigh* I guess we all figured out that D.L. wasn't coming back, but that headstone was so abrupt. And then Niki's dropping Micah somewhere again. How can she walk away from that cute little face? *wibbles* But wait, Grandma(?) is Nichelle Nichols, and she is awesome! And then Niki puts herself right into Ned Ryerson's hands! Nooo! This show is killing me!
I'm still totally meh about the two killer kids in Mexico. How can anything good come from this girl?
I'm enjoying Hiro's time in the way back machine - it's fun and carefree compared to what's going on in the present. Just don't get your heart broken again, sweetie! I'm curious because I figure they've got to keep David Anders around for awhile - will they stay in the past, or will he travel with Hiro to the future, or will he live forever and just show up in the future on his own timeline? Did Hiro lose his powers altogether, or just his ability to go back to his own time? Or did he stop voluntarily and decide to stay of his own accord? *is confoozled*
Finally, Ando looove! I've adored him from day one, and I'm so relieved they haven't killed him off (except in that nasty alternate future, of course). He was so cute in his cubicle. I'm a little worried he's never going to see Hiro again. I really, really hope not.
So, although this episode definitely put me through the emotional wringer, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have lots to ponder, and, as usual, I can't wait for next week!
