I think it must be some kind of misunderstanding between them, like Lois doesn't know who she is, and thinks she's one of the bad guys. There is no reason for her to have a problem with Aquaman's wife.

I'm trying to think of all these guest stars as an expanded regular cast, since so many of them are returning characters. The show had eight series regulars for years, and still managed to be all about Clark, at least early on. I'm clinging to that. I have to admit, though, I'm totally dreading Chloe's return. I fully expect her exit arc to not only take the focus off Clark, but to glorify her at his expense. I hope I'm wrong.

I can't wait to see that pic in HQ. I hope the promo pics include lots of Clark, in both of the roles he'll be playing.

I am not totally informed on Aquaman's comics history. I generally just stick to Superman and Batman (and occasionally Wondy.) But one of my friends who is provided something that might be noteworthy: Apparently, in the more recent canon, Mera is actually a double agent. Supposedly she is originally send to kill AC but then falls in love with him and switches sides or something.

So...it's possible that Mera has something of a "past" that Lois picks up on and she is initially worried that Mera is not being honest about her intentions. This is totally spec. But it's possible.

I could see them drawing inspiration from the comics, or just dreaming up some situational conflict. As long as they don't make Lois look jealous over a guy she dated for half a second five years ago, I'm fine. :)
