I am really, really looking forward to Absndoned. And as someone who has also lost a parent to cancer, I'm sure Lois watching the tapes of her mother is going to be very emotional.

The one thing nagging at me about this ep though is this idea that AI Jor-El is Clark's "dad" (he's not, Jonathan Kent is). And I'm also not in favor of Lois going to the FoS to try and make peace, because I honestly think they are going to sweep too many important issues that the AI Jor-El has done in an attempt to allow Lois to play peacemaker. And I'm not OK with that.

So, I'm hoping the episode proves me wrong.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the "There was a Boy" promo. Probably because of how heavily he's weighed towards the romantic part of Clark's life (as you know, not my favorite part of the show), and the almost complete omission of Lex.

I couldn't agree more. The only way I can reconcile Jor-El's behavior over the years is to think of him as a computer program gone horribly wrong (I viewed the resurrection of the FoS in Abyss as a therapeutic reboot), but I know the show will never support that theory. I'm really curious to see where they go with this, because what the A.I. did in Lazarus is in serious contention for the most fucked-up psychological abuse yet.

You're absolutely right, of course, but at this point, after seeing the clip they released today, I'm amazed they even let Lois tell him off. I'm as easy as ever, but hearing her say those words was sweet.

The "There Was A Boy" promo IS shippy. Oddly, it bothered me more before I saw Ambush, which gave me so much hope for a more balanced season going forward. I love the song, and a lot of the clips they chose from the past, and I have such an emotional response when I watch it! I just hope they give it some air time on the network.
