I always thought it didn't make sense that Clark let the tower get as far along as it did, but I still don't have a problem with what he did in the end, especially with the way Tom showed us the depth of Clark's conflict over it. I loved that scene (although I think the imagery was unfortunate). But you're right, Clark himself has questioned that decision.

Michael Ironside is the bomb. I'm so glad he had room in his busy schedule to do this episode. And we already know he loves Tom, so I'm sure they had a happy reunion. I love how intimidating he is. My dad used to ask high school boys if they had a five year plan! ;) And you know I paused the clip on my very first viewing to read that list! At least Clark could super-speed through the whole thing in a matter of minutes.

I like the line Clark seems to draw between what's worth fighting about and what's not. He's picking his battles, and standing up for what the "vigilantes" do is a step toward becoming the public hero he's meant to be.

I'm looking forward to this one, too!

I didn't have a problem with what he did either. I agree with you about Tom's performance. It was clear that he was completely tortured over what to do. I really liked the scene as well.
I think the reason Clark is questioning it is because he has realized that it left a lot of questions with the public. If he had done it as Superman out in the open...he could have assured people that it had to be done. But because the act was shrouded in mystery....it could be perceived as a terrorist act. I like how this all fits into Clark's need to step into the light and show his face.

I'm with you. I love that Superman is so clearly nervous around Lois' Dad.

I agree...Ironside is the bomb. What a great actor. I really love when they have mature actors on this show. They have such a presence about them.

That's an interesting point. I hope we get to see Clark work through issues like that one to reach the same conclusion you have. I want to see him articulate his reasons for eventually going public, and to arrive at those reasons on his own, because of his personal experiences and beliefs.

I agree. For awhile it seemed that there were no "adults" left on the show, and I missed that. I'm glad to see so many return as we approach the end of the series.
