Tom's a wonderful story for me. I've known him now, I've watched him grow up, I've seen him become not simply a great actor or a wonderful director, but he was a real set leader, and he's an entrepreneur that has had extraordinary success in his first year. So he's been a source of great personal joy for me.

You know, I have to admit that I didn't quite believe Tom when he said at SDCC that he didn't know what was coming up for Clark in S10. He's a full executive producer, so I figured he had to be in the loop about every detail. But I've read a lot of interviews with Tom from Smallville's earlier seasons recently, and one thing that he says over and over, and reiterates again in the video here, is that he consciously chooses not to find out what the writers have planned for his character, even when they offer to tell him. He would rather know only what Clark knows, and find his performance in the script at hand. I know I've made some comments speculating that he was being a bit coy, and I apologize for that. I realize now that's not the case at all.
Homecoming tonight! I'm beyond excited for the 200th episode, and I'm so jealous of those of you who will see it hours before I do here on the west coast! I won't be anywhere near my computer after 5PM my time. I don't want to be spoiled for any surprises the show still has in store for us. :)
