I'm very curious to see exactly what was in that box from Martha, too! I wonder if TPTB have even figured it out yet. I like the idea of an evolving design, with the spandex coming into play only after Clark learns to fly (subsequently embracing the aerodynamic efficiency the tights afford) and also decides he can't carry that backpack everywhere he goes (thereby needing something thin enough to fit under his clothes).

I know Clark's dream showed him in the classic suit, but I'd love to see Tom in a completely redesigned costume that is more modern, and it would be fine with me if they lost the tights altogether. I doubt Smallville will do anything that daring, though.

When I watched the scene where the Kryptonians ascended, it seemed to me that there were people in between Clark and Zod, who would have been closer and therefore even more susceptible to the Blue!K, but maybe they stepped forward and farther away just as Clark stepped back, or maybe the ascension happened in ever-widening circles, and Zod unsheathed the knife when only he and Clark, standing the furthest from the console, remained.

I appreciated so much that Clark found his own way in Salvation, and didn't waver from his decisions with those who would dissuade him, but only changed his plans when he deemed it necessary to better guarantee the safety of the planet. And then he sacrificed himself to save mankind, complete with a stab wound to his side (which, if you watch, is where the knife originally went in) and his arms outstretched in the classic crucifixion pose. It may not have been subtle, but I thought it was awesome. :)
