I'm at the point where I just want the season to be over, with limited damage and fallout to the only two characters I even remotely care about anymore, individually and together (points at icon). Then I just want/hope Tom puts his foot down and says that season 10 is IT. Because any hint I read from Brian or Kelly about anything past season 10 makes me want to find them and hit them upside the head.

Sad thing is, all the way up through Conspiracy, I have really liked season 9, for the most part. I did think they were getting way too distracted by some things (*cough*Oliver*cough*), but I was actually engaged and enjoying the season, and it looked as if the second half maybe wouldn't fall apart like it always has since around season six.

Boy, how wrong I was. And this time it's worse because, for me, it feels like a "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice . . ." situation. I know it's just a short blurb, but I'm not looking forwards to the finale at all.

And "epic battle"? I think the CW promo/OD writers should be banned from using those words, especially after the "epic" Doomsday fight from last season. :p

This is my feeling as well. Just get through what's left of S9, and hope they'll somehow find a way to give us the kick-ass final season we all deserve.

I've enjoyed most of this season, too, as you know from my reviews, and I expect to love parts of the remaining episodes. But the way this show treats Clark is just so discouraging to me. Like you say, that description of the finale is just a couple of sentences, but it manages to confirm my worst fears all the same. :(

Seriously. I did like what we saw of Clark's showdown with Doomsday, but 1:45? That was a slap in the face after an entire season of hype. And this time I'm not looking forward to any battle, given what the conflict represents to Clark.
