Right?!

I know!! Be serious! :D Both of them looking GORGEOUS in that bedroom scene. There is no way they wouldn't have been all over each other.

That was honestly, the only bearable part of that entire breakfast sequence, for me. I personally loathed the rest of it - annoying as hell.

I know what you mean. Some of that scene was really cringe-worthy. But I also thought some of it was really funny. :) One thing that was interesting to me was that Oliver didn't really join in with Chloe's snarky attitude toward Clark, at brunch or elsewhere in the episode. That made it a lot easier for me to appreciate him, and to enjoy his comedic moments.

I'm actually curious about this.

Zod's possible redemption is my last remaining hope that Clark won't be condemned by the show for deciding to save his life the way he did. :(

LaT provided a really interesting and believable reading on Tess in my lj, and canadabear also reiterated the same and I agree

That's a great theory, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that it's exactly what informs Cassidy Freeman's acting choices. In addition, we know from Turbulence that Tess had an abusive childhood, and it certainly seems to have left a lasting effect on her adult relationships.

Clark singing is just never going to not be precious nd hilarious.

And Tom didn't sound half bad! :) I'm dying to know if the "song" choice was his, it was too funny.

Yeah, about sums it up.

I think I was more forgiving than I might have been because I'm afraid Escape may be our last funny episode for a good long while. Between Zod's powers, Chloe's secret agenda, and Checkmate, we have a lot of serious storylines going on. I expect the end of the season to be heavy with drama and angst, and I wanted to savor the lighter moments this episode gave us.
