Do I hear something about learning lessons? SV is actually going to explore consequences of doing not-so-great things? Well, colour me shocked. And excited! I'm interested to see where this goes.

I got excited when I saw that quote, too, but I'm wary. What kind of sacrifice are we going to see? I'm worried about Clark, and I'm worried about Chloe, too.

I am really interested to see what happens, though. It could be awesome! *hopes*

The sacrifice can't be her dying, of course, because she's still alive in the finale. I can't think of what else it could be, though.

I don't think it's her dying, but I could see her killing someone else to protect Clark. In the comics, Maxwell Lord controls Superman with his mind, making him attack Batman and Wonder Woman. The only way to release Superman is to kill ML, so WW does. Both Batman and Superman reject her after that, even though she saved them both, because she took a human life. What if that plays out on Smallville, except with Chloe, Oliver, and Clark?

Hmm, that's interesting. Would that be bad, necessarily? Or are you worried about Chloe taking another character's role? Or because of where it would put Chloe? The way I see it, she's already killed someone and Jimmy's blood is pretty much on her hands. She's already tainted. I don't want to see her go out on a bad note, though, so if the rejection angle plays into the plot, that wouldn't be so great. Hmm, there's possibility for good AND bad in this scenario.

I want to see Clark and Chloe reconcile, not have them split even further apart by a moral conflict. And you know there will be fans who don't understand who Superman is, the same people who wanted to see him kill Davis in cold blood, and who think he's the one at fault for the rift in their friendship now, who will condemn Clark if he rejects Chloe for something she did to save him, regardless of whether it was right or wrong. I think those fans are wrong, of course, but I don't look forward to a scenario that gives them more ammunition. It depends on how it all plays out, though. You're right, it could be awesome, and if that's the case, it will be worth it, and I won't care what anyone thinks.

Yeah, the writers don't exactly have the best track record when it comes to making use of potentially great ideas. *sigh* It does depend on how it plays out. But don't worry about people who bitch, T. They will always feel like there's something wrong with the show/Clark. Hell, I've complained about the show enough myself, but when I do like something, I just stay away from negative reactions. There's just no point in bumming yourself over how other people feel. I learned that the hard way.

That's good advice. Of course I respect that everyone in entitled to their own opinion, and I know it's just a TV show, but some of the stuff gets to me all the same. :/ And I just don't understand the people who stay in the fandom just to hate on the show, the characters, and even the actors.
