I'm happy for him. I am one of the odd few who didn't need Lex to return to the show. Whether it was because I was afraid the writers would muck it up somehow and make the Clark/Lex storyline worse or just because I'm beyond thrilled with Tess and the subsequent villains o' the season, I'm not 100% sure, but I'm glad he has stated resolutely that this is it. No do overs.

I'm happy for him, too. It sounds like one of the projects he wrote may be coming together, and that is so exciting to contemplate! When I watch older episodes with Lex in them, I miss Michael, but I don't watch the current season and wish Lex were there. I'm enjoying what I'm seeing on my TV screen, and if anything, I want more Tess.

They squandered Michael's talent and Lex's potential for the last two seasons he was on the show, and nothing they've done since makes me think it would be any different if he returned. My only regret is that I think Tom's performance fundamentally changed (for the better, although I already thought he was perfect) after AlMiles left, and I would have loved to see THAT Clark in a scene with Lex.

I so appreciate that Michael respects the fans enough to be honest with them. Sometimes I think the show lives to string us along, and it is beyond frustrating.
