Re: part I

Or using his x-ray vision to see behind the mask to see that the guy's mouth was taped shut?

LOL! I never thought of his x-ray vision! See how I always get stuck inside my own head?

Or, at least, that's not what Clark thought the impetus was; he thought it was because he failed to realize that the bomb was actually on a timer.

That actually makes a lot more sense. That kind of mistake could potentially endanger a large number of people, and it's directly related to the crisis Clark faced with Toyman later at the Ace of Clubs. I figured Clark knocked that hostage across the room because they needed to show him making an error in judgment, but I guess he was just separating him from the bomb, figuring that would prevent him from setting it off?

Nothing? Really, show? Really?

My feelings exactly. They kept passing up the juicy stuff! It was very frustrating.

Giving Clark another power could have served to remind him that he's got a lot to work with when addressing any new crisis.

I think that would have been much more satisfying to watch. It would have made a wonderful episode in itself, an entirely appropriate lesson in self-discovery for Clark.
