When talking about Clark backhanding the supposed "Toyman" across the factory, I agree it was both unsettling and upseting to watch AND get no confirmation whether it was the explosion that had caused his injuries.
But when dealing with Clark's mindset we have to remember that he DID think it was Toyman the man who had held Metropolis hostage and was partly reponsible for him and Lana not being able to be together. Yes he's starting to move on but having Toyman back in Metropolis would bring those feelings of anger back.

Is it right? No. Understandable? Yes.

And while I can certainly understand Chloe fans being frustrated with her amount of screentime, I think it's coming to the point where Chloe's story will soon be coming to an end. By that I mean as she's conistantly been occuping a place that's traditionally occupied by other people (Chloe as the best and confidant in Smallville, is Comic!Lana, Chloe as reporter is Comic/Iconic!Lois Chloe as Watchtower is Comic!Barbara Gordon) and there's no mention of her in the future according to Rokk, she disappears, and the only way I can think of is if she either dies or she joins a convert organisation.

And I agree with you, about Tom's beauty and am starting to think that he really IS an alien from outer space. His little excited grin wen he heard that Lois was wearing a thong and his little grin when they were both in the life. Cute (and hilarious!)

As latxcvi said, he didn't know it was Toyman yet. But regardless of that, I really hope the days of Clark lashing out in anger are behind us. Everything I've seen this season tells me he's grown beyond that. But of course who knows what the future holds? His journey isn't complete yet.

I guess Allison has indicated she won't be returning after this season, but if that's true, all the more reason to give Chloe a memorable final arc. Letting her just kind of fade away would be a terrible waste of AM's considerable talent, not to mention all the money they're paying her. And Chloe deserves better from the show that brought her to life. As you say, though, the question is, what role does she play now, in Clark's life and in the show?

The part where Clark heard Lois thinking about her underwear was too funny. Tom's expressions were priceless. :)

I really don't know what Chloe can play on the show, because having her fill all of those iconic roles just make the ones who's place she IS seem like emulators.

And I think while it's true that people sometimes just fade out of your life AM's Chloe has played such a huge role in Clark's life that it would seem wrong. But she was supposed to die in Legion and I don't know how you write an end to her character on the show that fits.

Also, though Clark's taken one huge step towards being Superman he's not there yet
:)
He's still doing things that are problematic such as not telling Oliver to turn himself in for Lex's murder. Seriously I've thought about the pro's and cons of Clark pointing it out, and really there are no repercussions for him, so why doesn't he tell Oliver to go?
The only thing I can think of? Is that he doesn't think Oliver would listen to him and go back on his downward spiral. But, still morally murky

I used to wish that the three of them would be sort of a tight-knit family all working at the Daily Planet together.. *sigh*

I wanted that, too. Give Chloe that hot cop from Apocalypse and they all could have lived happily ever after. I really liked the few times Chloe and Lois worked together on an investigation, like in Exposed and Solitude. They made a good team.

See? Now that would have been a story to tell, but no....instead we get this. A storyline that makes my head hurt.
