Why would the first clip of the new season not have Clark in it?

Thats a bad sign.

I know what you mean. All those thoughts went through my head: Did Tom ask for reduced screen time in S9, and this is the result? Is the show all about Lois now? Or Zod/DC characters/anyone but Clark? But I think the other possibility is that they're trying to build anticipation for who Clark has become, and entice viewers to tune in to the premiere to get their first good look at him.

Similarly, by this time last year we already had the Odyssey promo pics to swoon over. This year we haven't seen anything except that one pic of BAG as Metallo. But the one other image we have seen is this one, which also, to me, is all about the anticipation:

I'm hopeful that their focus is right where it should be, and that they're just making us wait for it.

I don't think this is an official promo image though. I think this is something Geoff Johns cooked up. Considering what total crao his upcoming episode premise is, its the least he could give us. LOL

I'm so naive sometimes. I assumed that because he posted this with his tweet about spending the week working on Smallville, it was something official from the show, but of course you're right.

Maybe I give Geoff Johns way too much credit, but I honestly have faith in him when it comes to Clark. I think he is truly reverent of Superman. The way he writes Supes in his comic book stories (and I don't claim to have read massive amounts of his work) makes my heart soar, and I loved the way he wrote Clark in Legion. I can't believe he would bring the JSA in to kick Clark. I think either they'll be criticizing Oliver and his crew, but not Clark, or, if they do go after Clark as well, he'll show them that they're wrong, and teach them a thing or two instead.

Unless, of course, he's become corrupted by spending too much time with the Smallville writers. Then all bets are off. :/

I just ordered his JSA series from Amazon. I did the same with his Legion series before that episode aired, and having the background made the episode a lot more fun for me, plus it helped fill in all the usual blanks created by having to cram that story into 43 minutes.

Thats OK, you keep being optimistic. I'm here to balance you out, LOL

Legion was good, but I'm not as big an admirer of it as some.

All I know is that the concept of Society just sounds like it sucks. I really hope I'm wrong. Maybe someone who tweets *hint, hint* might just let him know how much many of us are sick to death of people getting in Clark's face. Just so he knows ;)
