Great review - I'm sad that I have only one more of your SV reviews to read this season!

Oh, Tas, that's the nicest thing you could possibly say to me! *hugs*

Yes, it was a very noble and enjoyable Clark this week.

I love how Tom respects his character, and lets both his goodness and his strength shine through when he has complete control of his performance. And even in a dark episode like this one, he finds moments of hope and inspiration, where we realize anew that Clark truly is our hero.

Since that implication comes through strongly in the staging rather than the script, I wonder if that was Tom's idea? It makes the Chloe/Clark scene that much more unsettling.

That's an interesting thought! It was all so oblique, but it seemed clear to me. I didn't know if they were trying to be ambiguous, or just subtle for the sake of the family hour. It definitely added another layer of maliciousness to Tess's attempt to manipulate Clark. She is one driven chick, who will obviously do whatever it takes to get what she wants. *shivers*

That was surely the most beautiful shot in the episode, as your 'cap proves.

The look in his eyes just killed me. So pretty, and so sad. *sniffles*
