Ooh, thanks for another lovely gallery of Tom-beauty! And a great review, as always.

I thought this was a great episode for Clark: he was funny, smart and sympathetic. The writing was spot-on (for him, anyway!)

fangirls around the globe flailed at the rare sight of bare Tommy tummy. Thank you, Tom Welling! ♥
It was his birthday gift to US!

Lois made an impulsive decision in a moment of weakness, and as a result not only risked her career in journalism, but also saw her friends' very lives put into danger. She was humbled by the experience, and learned an important lesson about ethics and integrity, unanimously delivered by Jimmy, Clark, and Chloe. I appreciated that the show was adamant about that!
I felt it was a disservice to the character to have Lois construct an alter-ego and fake a story - why would she need to? Lois has done fine getting stories this year. It made me enjoy the phone conversation scene at the end a bit less unfortunately.

Doomsday eating people in the basement and Chloe throwing out the leftovers made me giggle, which was probably not the intended reaction! (Allison's performance was fab, however.)

I'm glad you like the caps! Picking them out is the treat I give myself as a reward for finishing writing my review! :)

It really was! I hope Clark continues to be written well when the promised darkness falls, but history tells me otherwise. I hope the S9 premiere is a unexpected surprise, the same way the S8 one was.

I agree. I think this was a perfect example of what you were talking about before: figure out the ending you want, and then work backward to come up with whatever crazy scheme you can.

Okay, when you put it that way, it makes me giggle, too! Leftovers?! hee!
