We seem to be major duds this week.

I got most of them right. Except the screen caps. And the trivia. (Got the music right, though.)

Yay! A comment! :) Seriously, I don't know if anyone is looking at these or not. I was thinking they would just be fun to look at, but are they too hard? I thought if I put up stuff like, "I hope your apple pie was freaking worth it," and "Bring me some pie," that would just be dumb. I don't know. If I were taking it, I'd just be googling all over the place to see if I could find the answers through research, and that would be the fun part for me. *sighs*

Didn't ask for me to unload? That's what you get for commenting! LOL!

The real reason I started this was to distract me from the hiatus, and it's been great for that. It's fun to watch all the episodes again, and hunt down screen caps. So even if no one is playing, I'll keep on making these. I appreciate that you're here!

Honestly, if I were to take this one cold, I would have known 2 of the quotes, 3 of the caps, the 2 song ones, and maybe the one about Ellen buying pretzels. FWIW. :)

My problem is that I was at work when I found this and I can't spend a ton of time researching. My other problem is that for some reason, when you post a new entry, I don't get notified even though I have it set up that I should. It notifies me when my other friends do, but for some reason it doesn't with you. So I'm always a little slow in getting over here.

LOL - sorry for rambling! Thanks for the quiz - it was fun!

What? You have a life? LOL! I hope it didn't sound like I was complaining, it's more like I'm trying to figure out if people think what I'm putting out there sucks. So I was kind of thinking out loud there.

Okay, LJ expert that I am, I didn't even know you could get notified when your friends post. I just compulsively check my Friends Page all day long. I'm going to go do that next! So of course I have no idea why it wouldn't be working for my stuff.

Thanks for the feedback! It means a lot to me.

People may have been really busy last week. Or the hiatus is slowly killing us off.
whimsywinx From: whimsywinx Date: January 14th, 2008 03:52 pm (UTC) (Link)
I see they did come out to play!
tariel22 From: tariel22 Date: January 14th, 2008 07:06 pm (UTC) (Link)
I think I sounded whiny, which I didn't mean to. :( Yeah, it's all good! LOL!

No you didn't. I live for comments on my posts, so I get it.

I got 8 out of 15 right!

Huh.

I thought that I was doing pretty good as I was answering them...but I guess not.
tariel22 From: tariel22 Date: January 11th, 2008 10:48 pm (UTC) (Link)
I was just commenting to Whimsy about what I would know if I took this one, and I came up with 7, or possibly 8, right. So you're in good company! :) I think I need to announce that this is an open internet test. LOL!

Is it just as fun/more fun to play if it's easier? Because I've been avoiding certain quotes and caps because they seem too obvious. *ponders*

Thanks so much for commenting. I'm glad to know someone is out there! :)

Oh, I know that I could have looked up the answers, but it's more fun to try to figure it out without aids... :-D

Ummm...I think you have a good mix now. I like the easy ones because they make me feel smart - LOL! - but yet I liked to be stumped and then find out the answers.
tariel22 From: tariel22 Date: January 12th, 2008 03:10 am (UTC) (Link)
I'm glad you said you like a mix, because that's what I've been going for. Supernatural fans are very knowledgeable, I've found, so it's a little harder for me to tell what's easy and what's hard. I've been so paranoid about making it too easy, I was afraid I had gone too far in the other direction.

Thanks for the reply, Ocean!

Hahaha... I suck. Especially the screencaps. 1 out of 5?! It's been awhile since I've tried a trivia. Thanks. Guess I need to conduct another viewing marathon. :):):)
tariel22 From: tariel22 Date: January 12th, 2008 03:25 am (UTC) (Link)
The caps are funny. I mean, look at the first one. It's Dean's face in the dark, with no other visual cues. Impossible to identify, some might say. But that scene was a huge deal to me, and that face haunted me after the episode aired. Enough that I hunted down the cap, stuck it in my Jensen file, and committed it to memory. So for me, that one's not impossible. But someone else might not have a clue. It's really hard to gauge.

The last one, on the other hand, is probably pretty easy. It's a unique situation in a unique episode. Finding the right balance of easy and difficult is really a challenge.

BTW, I love Dark Angel! *points to your icon* I wish I could put some of those caps in this game, they're lovely.
From: koosh2012 Date: January 12th, 2008 07:20 am (UTC) (Link)
Thanks. I used to be a notorious Jensen Ackles fan on TVG. The icon was actually made by moschops for her youtube video "AmIEvil: A Pengy Story" a couple of months back because she knows that as much as I love Dean, I find Alec simply irresistable. That picture was one of my all-time favorites, and gave me never-ending pleasure when anyone (including me) posted it on Giggles, so she was kind enough to surprise me & insert a kooshie "cuddles" into the frame. Needless to say, I love-love-LOVE IT!!! *hugs mossy from afar*

I know what you mean about screencaps from certain scenes. My other DA fave *points at icon on this post* is from the Berrisford Agenda when Alec's at the bar while Max tries (failingly) to be sisterly. His acting is just swoon-worthy in that epi and the picture captures all the angst.

Shuts up about Dark Angel... But. The need to show it off forced me to upgrade to a PAID LJ account so I can now begin swiping icons (with credit & kudos galore) to my heart's content. Hahaha... You've created a monster, Tariel. Woo Hoo!!!
tariel22 From: tariel22 Date: January 14th, 2008 07:15 pm (UTC) (Link)
Somehow I missed this comment when you posted it. Sorry!

I just wanted to reply to share in the DA squee! I finally broke down and bought both seasons when Amazon put them on sale for $20 each a while back, and just fell in love. Jensen is so much better than anyone else on that show, IMO. And your icon from BA is perfect! :)

Watch out, icon addiction will get us all! LOL!

Oh god... it's a slippery, slippery slope & I'm afraid I've lost my balance. Scratch that. I know I've lost my balance. Assuming I was ever balanced to begin with... Congrats on your DA acquisitions. I love that show and started watching S2 this weekend (again). Jensen is particularly awesome, but it's his character interaction dynamic that I love most. Raises the bar in all contexts & everyone else goes there. I'm also deeply partial to Joshua. I adore Joshua... I find the show full of lovable characters - regulars and epi specific. They did a really good job casting. The junk yard guy in "Borrowed Time"? Bahahaha... I loved so much how he appreciated Gossamer. And Martin Cummins was suhWEET! I'd never seen him play an arch-antagonist character before & he did such a good job. Pretty much across the board the characterizations and casting please me. I couldn't re-watch just for Jensen more than once or twice. I've even been known to rewatch S1! and I never saw any of it until after seeing S2 and falling madly in love with Alec.
tariel22 From: tariel22 Date: January 14th, 2008 08:31 pm (UTC) (Link)
I thought the casting in DA was amazing too. I loved Rainn Wilson! Of the regulars (besides Jensen, of course), I really liked Original Cindy and Normal. And I especially liked the bond between Alec and Joshua. I loved their scenes together!

About Martin Cummins, I actually knew him from the Poltergeist television show. We used to call him Hothead, because his character was always threatening to beat people up. :) Anyway, he was an evil scientist on Smallville back in S3, and his character on DA was pretty similar to that. He was downright chilling on DA, though.

I'm totally compulsive in my behavior, so I couldn't allow myself to watch S2 until I had first watched S1. The show was okay, but I kept wanting it to hurry up, so I could finally get to the season with Jensen in it! LOL!

I got 11 outta 15. I thought I was doing better than that but it was still a lot of fun. Thanks for putting all the effort into this. I enjoy it!!! :o)

I think you did great! Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm having fun just putting it together, but it's nice to know when someone enjoys enjoys playing. I'm already making notes for next week. :)
ophelia_77 From: ophelia_77 Date: January 12th, 2008 07:05 am (UTC) (Link)
I'll be late next week because I don't get home until Saturday, but I promise to check it out as soon as I get back.

Funny, how the SPN fans are all over it more so than the SMV. Strange? Of course, being a fan of both myself I can remember SPN titles better. Maybe because their aren't as many to remember. I also think the SMV one-word title standard messes me up.

Thanks for playing, and especially for commenting!

I think I've been focusing too much on screen caps that are memorable to me, instead of making sure they have some visual clues in them that will help people figure them out. It's a fine line between too difficult and too easy, I'm finding.

I'm still getting a feel for what works, so your feedback is really appreciated!
