Hellcats in Entertainment Weekly
Hellcats is mentioned in the April 9, 2010, issue of Entertainment Weekly, in an article called "TV's Next Big Hits?" Click for BIGGER.

I'm thrilled that they highlight Tom's involvement, and of course I agree that he's "dreamy," but I imagine he hopes to be recognized for a different skill set than his incredible good looks on this project. :P

Here is the entire article, covering pilots on the five broadcast networks. Click on the thumbnails for full size.

I think those Disney girls are responsible for about 90% of it, but I'm not complaining! :)

You are so good to us with all of these info and updates. Thanks for sharing the scans. I'm glad Tom is mentioned so much as the producer to this show even if he isn't the only one.

You know it's always my pleasure! :) I would say that Tom is the most well known of the producers, and it is his production company that's running the show, if I understand things correctly. OTOH, the show was Kevin Murphy's idea, and he wrote the pilot script. It will be interesting to see who speaks to the media for the production side of the show. I'm hoping for Tom, but expecting Kevin.

I just got home from being gone all day and saw my EW on the bookcase. Then I read your update and can't wait to crack it open!!!! Wooo!!

My only regret was that there wasn't a (new) picture of Tom. :(

Thanks for keeping us updated!!

P.S. I know who Aly is, but who is AJ? (on her twitter page?)
Btw, I rented Bandslam last weekend. She was better than I thought she'd be. I liked her!!

I agree. Both have potential. They look so blonde and vapid...well they might still be vapid...but they have talent at least.

Hey, stranger! Hi! *waves*

Oh, I don't think they're vapid, I think they're awesome. :D And Ashley isn't even a blonde anymore, although she's pictured that way. ;) Anyway, I hope we get the chance to see Hellcats and decide for ourselves how they do.

Isn't it a fabulous issue? Between TVG and EW, I felt like I hit the jackpot this week!

I'm hoping that once filming starts we'll get some tweets about Tom, if not some BTS pics. :) With all the paparazzi who swarm around Ashley, we may get some pics of Tom, but I hate the idea of him being bothered by them.

A.J. is Aly's younger sister. Together they used to be the singing group Aly & A.J., but they recently left the Disney-owned Hollywood Records label and changed their name to 78violet. Here's the music video of my favorite song of theirs, Potential Breakup Song. Aly is the one with curly hair.

I really liked Bandslam, and Aly in it! After reading the sides, I can totally see her as Marty.

I'm glad they mentioned Tom (and of course he's dreamy!) I can't help but to regard this project with some discomfort though. I wish Tom every possible success but I'm wary of what it might mean for Tom (and Clark) should Hellcats get finally picked up for a full series. I hope Tom has everything sorted out!

I do have the same concerns. It's hard to say what level of involvement Tom would have in the production. Would it film in Vancouver as a series, or are they just doing that with the pilot to accommodate Tom? His attendance at the dance auditions seems to indicate he's being very hands-on, but maybe that just worked out with his Smallville schedule, and he decided to attend serendipitously. I just don't know.

I'm sure Tom will continue to give his all to Smallville and his performance as Clark, but I hope the demands he puts on himself, whatever they turn out to be, don't take too much of a toll. He probably already works too hard.
