Hellcats audition update
Tweets from a dancer who auditioned for Hellcats on Saturday, with some wonderful comments about Tom Welling:

Again, someone asked if Tom was nice. :)

BTW, if you're a Supernatural fan, you should check out her Twitter at @leahdianegibson. She worked on the show last week, and had some cute tidbits to share.

Those are lovely tidbits! It's nice to know that Tom is getting some respect and recognition. Thanks for sharing!

(I suppose they are still shooting SV and it seems Tom is really busy during weekends too. He's a real professional)

She seems both intelligent and insightful. Doesn't her description sound just like the man we know and love? Whether or not this show ultimately gets picked up, it's clear that we're seeing the beginning of a whole new level of accomplishment for Tom.

I think Tom's professionalism is one of his most admirable qualities. We both know he will make extraordinary demands of himself to meet his responsibilities; he's been doing that since Smallville started. What a guy!

Awwww. If they pick the series up, I will probably end up watching to support Tom, but I adore Ashley.

It's so nice to hear all these wonderful impressions of him. Thanks for all the updates! :)

It's the same for me: I would watch just because this is Tom's project, but I'm really pleased with the casting so far. I'm so curious about who else will be joining the show!

I'm glad you're enjoying the non-Smallville spam. Finding and posting all this stuff makes the hiatus a little more bearable. :)

Thank you for sharing ;) I love hearing fans talk about Tom. They are all so excited to meet him!

I'm always interested to hear about the impression he makes, especially with people who aren't necessarily fans of Smallville. And these tweets have been especially nice to read after that nasty and completely unfounded attack on Tom by that autograph hound in Vancouver.

Okay, You've lost me here. WHAT?

You didn't see that? Check it out HERE. At least plenty of fans came to Tom's defense in the comments.

Thank you for the link. That was just unfair and totally out of the blue. I saw some very nice comments though and at least I found a pic of Tom I haven't seen before.

Heh, I love this comment especially:

Did you ever think that the reason he didn't want to talk to you 7 or 8 years ago is because you're a weirdo who spends his free time stalking people in airports? You don't find the idea that you basically stand there and stare at this man as he gets on and off airplanes even remotely creepy? Cause I'm thinking I totally get why he doesn't want to talk or look at you.

Also why does the dude keep calling Tom a "cock"? I sense a subtext of sexual longing...
tariel22 From: tariel22 Date: March 23rd, 2010 02:13 am (UTC) (Link)
That was a great comment! I loved how people called him on his BS. I don't begrudge Tom his love of privacy, he doesn't owe anybody anything except his performance as Clark, but this guy isn't even a fan. I applaud Tom for not playing into his mercenary, stalking ways.

I haven't read very many negative things about Tom, but every time I do, it's because someone didn't get what they wanted from him: a photo, an autograph, a personal conversation while he's filming, or something else equally selfish and invasive. What matters to me is how we hear over and over again from the cast and crew with whom he works that he is kind, generous, thoughtful, and professional. I don't doubt that he has the occasional bad day, but in general I think people get what they deserve (or much better) from him.

LOL! I think you've uncovered the true source of his bitterness! :D

Did you burst at the kind Tom words?
tariel22 From: tariel22 Date: March 21st, 2010 09:44 pm (UTC) (Link)
Pretty much, yes. :D They should obviously hire this woman, she's brilliant!

Thanks so much for continuing to dig up all these awesome bits of information!

I really hope Tom's show gets picked up! For his sake and ours. :-)

It's kind of amazing to realize all the work that goes into making a show- and it might not even ever go to series!
tariel22 From: tariel22 Date: March 22nd, 2010 02:05 am (UTC) (Link)
It's my pleasure! At least until Smallville is back with new episodes, anyway. ;)

It is mind-boggling to realize how much goes into producing a pilot, and how much money must be spent, all on something that might never be seen. I'm glad that in the case of Justin's Mercy Reef pilot AlMiles decided to release it on iTunes, and later include it as a bonus feature with the Smallville DVD sets at Best Buy. I love that pilot!
eeyore1017 From: eeyore1017 Date: March 22nd, 2010 03:02 am (UTC) (Link)
I'm also a big fan of Mercy Reef. I'm so glad that I have it on my iPod!

"They" should really do that with other pilots too.

I agree, especially if the pilot stars someone with a lot of fans. I would love to see the other pilots Justin has done, for example, like the one he made with Cassidy Freeman. And wasn't there one about a witch? That sounded kind of fun.

I love reading tid-bits about Tom Welling. Even though Tom's new project isn't a show I would normally watch, I will definitely tune in because Tom is attached to it!

Thank you for finding and sharing! :)

Hi! *waves* I can't resist even the smallest mention of Tom. :) I love how hands-on he is with this project, it seems like he gives nothing but his best to everything. As a fan, I appreciate that so much!

I didn't know what to think when I first heard about this pilot, but I knew I'd check it out if it got picked up, simply because of Tom's involvement. Since then I've read the book, which was quite compelling, been impressed with the people on the production team, and I was a fan of both Aly and Ashley before they were cast. Now I'm actively looking forward to the show, and hoping it goes to series! :D

Girl must have nerves of steel to be able to perform with the Beauty of Tom right there in front of her!
tariel22 From: tariel22 Date: March 23rd, 2010 02:38 am (UTC) (Link)
No kidding! It's the ultimate test: if you can perform under the onslaught of the SEXY right there in front of you, you must be able to withstand even the worst rigors of production! :)
